Scream: Scream is a horror/slasher movie that has a total of 5 films. The scream franchise has brought a new meaning and look to horror movies because it has an awareness of its surroundings and changed the way of horror movies forever. The series has grossed over $740 million in worldwide box-office receipts. Scream is about a masked and hooded figure called Ghostface, the main character or “the final girl” Sidney Prescott and her friends are slowly being killed and she has to find out who it is before it’s too late, The twist at the end really surprised me.

Midsommar: Main character Dani is left severely traumatized after her sister commits a murder-suicide. The incident further strains Dani’s relationship with her increasingly distant boyfriend of four years. Her boyfriend decides to ask her to go on a trip to visit their friend’s rural hometown for its midsummer festival. He only asks because he expects her to say no but she eagerly says yes to going with him and his friends. But what starts as a trippy and fun encounter quickly evolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

The Taking of Deborah Logan: Mia, Gavin, and Luis are a team of students who want to create a documentary about Deborah Logan, an elderly woman who has Alzheimer’s disease. The daughter of Deborah, Sarah thinks this is a good idea but Harris their groundskeeper thinks she’s exploiting Deborah. Deborah starts to exhibit increasingly bizarre actions the camera-man slowly realizes that some of the things that are happening aren’t normal when everybody finds Deborah speaking in French, talking about sacrifices and snakes, and repeatedly ringing number 337 on her switchboard calling a man whose line belonged to a local physician who disappeared after a series of cannibalistic ritualized murders of four young girls. Deborah starts to become more and more possessed over time in the movie.

Hereditary: The movie starts with the Graham family attending the funeral of Annie’s secretive mother. The mother after joins a bereavement support group to help but she reveals that she and her mother had a fraught relationship until her daughter was born when her mom became a significant figure in raising her own daughter. The oldest son Peter is invited to a party but his mother says he has to bring his sister if he wants to go on the way to the party, the siblings pass a telephone pole carved with an old sigil. At the party, Peter leaves Charlie unattended, and Charlie, who has a severe nut allergy, eats chocolate cake containing walnuts and goes into shock because of said nuts. As peter is driving from the party to the hospital Charlie leans out the window gasping for air when a deer comes out of nowhere so Peter swerves to not hit it accidentally decapitating charlie with a telephone pole. After Charlie’s death, things start to get strange throughout the house and everyone is noticing it too.
